Lykkers, are you thinking about relaxing on beautiful beaches with your family or perhaps setting off on a cruise?

If that's your plan, you're in luck – our planet has plenty of opportunities for adventure! However, imagine if your journey took a different turn.

What if you ended up on an alien planet, like 4546B, and found yourself in unfamiliar and dangerous waters?

In case that happens, I've put together a list of the top 10 most dangerous sea creatures from the game Subnautica to make sure you're prepared – and don't end up as lunch for a sea monster! Buckle up, it's going to get intense!

No.10: The Exploding Fish

This creature lives among symbiotic plants and resembles a blooming flower. When it senses another creature nearby, it emerges with a low, menacing growl. If you don't leave the area after this warning, the exploding fish gets louder and more aggressive before detonating in an explosion. So, if you encounter this creature, it's best to keep your distance unless you want a close-up of its explosive temper!

No.9: The Sandshark

True to its name, the sandshark hides beneath the sandy dunes, waiting to ambush unsuspecting prey. It can launch itself out of the sand at high speeds and chase after its target. While it can swim very fast, it only travels in straight lines, so if you're quick on your feet, you can outmaneuver it by swimming in a curve. Watch as the sandshark tires itself out and returns to its den disappointed.

No.8: The Magma Lizard

This massive and intimidating creature has battle scars all over its head and eyes, making it appear battle-hardened. The magma lizard can swim through hot lava and even shoot molten lava at its prey. While it's terrifying, it can sometimes help by taking care of lava bugs that might be bothering us, without damaging our vehicles. So, despite its aggression, there's a small silver lining!

No.7: The Hypnotist

One of my personal favorites, the hypnotist has large, mesmerizing fins. It moves gracefully through the water, making it seem like a harmless, gentle fish. But don't be fooled by its appearance! It uses the stunning patterns on its fins to hypnotize you, luring you into a beautiful trance before it strikes. If you're not careful, it might even take a bite out of your nose!

No.6: The Crab-Snake

The crab-snake is a strange combination of a snake's body and a crab's attack methods. It often lurks in the serpentine mushrooms, standing vertically, waiting for prey to swim near. When it does, it launches itself out, giving you a terrifying greeting. Its attack might remind you of an encounter with a fearsome creature like the Leviathan, though the damage it inflicts is less severe.

These creatures coexist with serpentine mushrooms in a symbiotic relationship. If small fish swim into the mushroom's entrance, the crab-snake attacks to protect its home.

No.5: The Crab-Squid

The crab-squid is an aggressive, large predator that usually floats lazily on the ocean floor, pretending to be harmless. But when smaller fish or other creatures swim too close, it strikes quickly.

Like the bone-sharks, crab-squids are often attracted to light, meaning they'll be drawn to the beams from your vehicle. You can distract it using lights from the Cyclops, but if you use this tactic too much, you might find your vehicle's lights sabotaged. They also make loud sounds, using echolocation or communicating with others of their kind, so listen carefully to avoid surprises.

No.4: The Electric Eel

The electric eel is an extremely aggressive alien species that roams its territory, emitting dangerous electric shocks as it searches for prey. Even if you're in a vehicle, it will strike with electricity if you get too close.

If you approach it unprotected, you'll feel the full force of its electric attack, which can be deadly. Interestingly, when two or more electric eels meet, they seem to mindlessly collide into each other without causing much harm, repeatedly bumping until one gives up and leaves.

No.3: The Starship Lawman - The Void Wraith

The Void Wraith is an AI created by pioneers for quarantine purposes, and it has the ability to create portals for teleportation. Despite being artificial, its appearance is not too out of place compared to natural life forms.

Each Void Wraith patrols a specific area, and if it detects a virus level above 0.3 in any organism, it will attack until the target is killed. The teleportation portal it creates can send us—or other dangerous creatures—through, so there's no guarantee of safety when encountering one.

No.2: The Reaper Leviathan

As its name suggests, the Reaper Leviathan is one of the most destructive creatures in the ocean. If it grabs you from the front, it will clamp down with its powerful jaws, roaring in victory before quickly finishing you off. Often found in areas crucial for collecting resources, the Reaper Leviathan is the nightmare of every newcomer to the planet.

No.1: The Sea Dragon Leviathan

The Sea Dragon Leviathan is perhaps the most terrifying of them all. Its sharp teeth and armor-like scales make it nearly invincible. It can attack from all directions using its tail, sweeping fins, and even fire-breathing abilities.

If you are caught without protection, you'll be swallowed whole and killed instantly. When attacking with a vehicle equipped with weapons, it may temporarily retreat, giving you a brief chance to escape. But once it recovers, it will return with even greater aggression.

As we explore the depths of the ocean, these creatures are lurking, waiting for the right moment to strike. Whether you're playing Subnautica or imagining yourself in a deep-sea adventure, it's clear that these deadly sea creatures should not be underestimated.

So, Lykkers, would you dare dive into these waters? Whether it's for the thrill of exploration or to just admire the beauty of the ocean, always remember to stay cautious and be prepared for the dangers that lie beneath.
